ClaimUnknownFunds ("we," "us," "our") helps Texas property owners and their heirs recover excess proceeds held by a county after a tax foreclosure sale. This page explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

What we collect

When you submit the form on our Check Your Claim page, we collect:

  • Your name
  • The property address or a reference number you give us
  • Your phone number and email address
  • The best time to reach you
  • Whether you agreed to receive text messages from us, and the exact wording you agreed to

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, your Social Security number, date of birth, or bank account details through this website or by text message.

Why we collect it

We use this information to contact you about a potential excess proceeds claim, verify your connection to the property, and, if you decide to move forward, work with a licensed Texas attorney to file a court petition on your behalf.

We never sell or share your information

We never sell, rent, or share your phone number, email address, or SMS consent with any third party, for any reason, including marketing by anyone else.Your information is used only by ClaimUnknownFunds to communicate with you about your own potential claim.

Text messages

If you check the text message box on our form, we may text you about your potential claim. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts from us. Agreeing to receive texts is never required to use our services or to submit the form.

Who can see your information

Your submission is stored in a database operated by Cloudflare, the company that hosts this website and manages its domain records. Cloudflare stores the data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. We do not use any other data-sharing or marketing service. That is the complete list of companies with any access to what you submit.

Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

Our claim form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a free tool that loads a small check fromchallenges.cloudflare.com to confirm a form is being submitted by a person and not an automated bot. Turnstile only sees general device and browser signals and returns a pass/fail result. It never receives your name, phone number, email address, or your text message consent choice.

How long we keep your information

We keep your submission and, if given, your text message consent record for at least five years, so we can show what you agreed to if that is ever in question. We do not use an automatic deletion schedule shorter than that, because it is your proof of consent as much as ours.

Your choices

You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by replying STOP to any text, or by calling or emailing us using the information below. You can also ask what information we have on file for you.
